    Why is community involvement important?

    Being involved in the community is important because it gives me the ability to use my knowledge to educate others about financial literacy.  I believe success is defined by the difference we make in other people’s lives.

    Why do you think it is important across all industries to provide more opportunities for women?

    Women have so much to contribute to the workforce, we are intelligent and have great qualities that can make a difference regardless of industry or profession.

    I believe in living a balanced life, where you are living with a purpose and making each day count.

    Why is cultural diversity so important in Australia?

    Cultural diversity is what makes Australia the place it is. Our multicultural society brings different strengths and experiences to the table which helps shape our country and make it the unique place it is.

    Tell me about three people that have inspired you?

    My mum and dad, for teaching me to dream, believe and achieve – that anything in life is possible if you’re willing to work hard enough.

    My kids, for inspiring me to make everyday a brighter day and create a better tomorrow for them, they give me endless inspiration.

    Richard Branson, for demonstrating that you can be a successful business owner while having fun and contributing to society.

After holding senior Commercial Banking positions, Marissa and her husband James established Rise High Financial Solutions with the key objective of empowering their clients to achieve their financial goals. With a focus on putting the client first, year after year, Rise High is one of the most awarded Mortgage Broking Businesses in Australia with multiple prestigious State and National awards including:

In 2015 Marissa was awarded with the prestigious SA Telstra Business Women’s Entrepreneur Award and commended for her work and passion in helping Australians improve their financial literacy and achieve their financial goals.


Marissa is a leader in the Finance industry, and regularly shares her skills and knowledge as a mentor and guest speaker at industry events including the 2014 and 2015 MFAA National Convention and the 2015 SA Better Business Conference. Marissa loves mentoring and supporting new entrants to the Mortgage and Finance Industry and was selected by her peers to join the SA MFAA council in 2012 and still serves on the council.


Prior to entering the Finance Industry, Marissa’s career was dedicated to helping young entrepreneurs achieve their dreams and goals and turn their ideas into commercial reality. As project Manager of the University of Adelaide Entrepreneurs Challenge (2003-2005) she managed to increase the profile of the competition attracting new sponsors and significant media attention. In 2005, Marissa began working for the Department of Trade and Economic Development and within six months had developed and implemented a successful entrepreneurial program for Indigenous Youth.


Marissa is an experienced and passionate property investor, and was Highly Commended in the Your Investment Property 2013 “Australian Property Investor of the Year Awards”. With over 14 years experience as a property investor, Marissa is an expert in property investing, property developing, subdivisions, construction and property research and enjoys sharing her wealth of knowledge with clients wanting to achieve financial freedom.


Marissa has completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting/Corporate Finance) and a Bachelor of Law (Honours) from the University of Adelaide. Marissa also holds a Diploma of Financial Services and Cert IV in Financial Services. In 1999 Marissa won the Prestigious Australian Young Achievement Business Person of the Year and in 2001 Marissa was selected to represent Australia at the Junior Achievement International Global Trade Institute held in Chicago.


In her spare time Marissa enjoys giving back to the community and has held various volunteer board roles including SA Great and ExposeSA. She loves enhancing her knowledge about changes in the economy and the property industry that can help her and her clients achieve their goals sooner.
